BYD Continues To Be Thailand's Popular EV Brand In April; NETA Comes Second

BYD continues to be Thailand's best-selling EV brand in April 2023. In this period, there were a total of 3,822 new EVs registered in Thailand, out of which BYD delivered 1,744 units. Of BYD's sales, 1,743 were the Atto 3 model followed by 1 unit of the T3.

Similarly, NETA came in second with 564 vehicles registered in April, followed by MG with 549 cars. Tesla ranked fourth with 535 vehicles registered. In terms of specific models, the top five EV registrations in Thailand in April were the BYD Atto 3 with 1,743 registrations, followed by the Neta V with 564 units, Tesla Model Y with 391 units, MG EP with 278 units, and MG4 Electric with 271 units.EV sales in Thailand are rapidly expanding. In 2020, Thailand sold 1,056 EVs. In 2021, Thailand sold 1,935 EVs. In 2022, 9,729 vehicles were sold, a fourfold increase. In 2023, it was even higher, with 14,777 EVs sold in Q1 and 2023 alone, surpassing the entire year of 2022.BYD and Neta’s factories are under construction in Thailand, while Tesla is exporting cars on a large scale.
